This week was super eventful! It's crazy how much happened in only one week.
Sunday, July 31st
Today I was super tired. I had bad acid reflux so I didn't sleep well. As one company left, another came to visit. My friend, Lauren stopped by to check on me and baby. It was so nice to catch up and hear about her new job.

The rest of the day I took it easy. I was able to nap and binge watch one tree hill. I finally started reading a newborn book as well.

Today was super busy. I was really tired so I slept in especially since I had three doctor's appointments. I had to go in for my normal NST (stress test), sonogram, and OB appointment. It would be a my 37 week appointment. I was excited because I would be able to see baby and they would determine how big he was based on certain measurements.

The first appointment was the sonogram. I already knew he was going to be big but I did not expect the news I received. The sonogram tech measured the baby and the fluid around him. She told me some people have a lot of fluid but some people just have big babies. After she measured everything, she told me I had both (hints why people thought I was having twins for so long)! Baby Cunigan was already measuring full term at 8 pounds, 8 ounces. I laughed because I knew he was big and I felt ready. The tech said it was good I could laugh because people usually cry when they hear their baby is that big (already).
The second appointment was my stress test. Everything went well. I asked her if they would consider a C-section or if they would induce me early. She told me only if necessary and if my blood pressure spiked. My blood pressure had been so good though that it wasn't as likely as before.
The third appointment was my OB appointment with a different doctor since my doctor was out of town. (The doctor I saw later ended up delivering me.) I was still not dilated and did not show any signs of labor. The doctor did approve me to attend work's Graduation Meet N Greet and Graduation.
After my appointments, I was able to work the rest of the day.

Pregnancy brain hit and I forgot to charge my phone overnight. Luckily, I still was able to wake up in time for work even if I was tired from the day before.
The day didn't hold anything exciting except for work. Also, I had a cleaning company stop by to quote our house so we can prepare for baby. I wanted to get the house deep cleaned since I couldn't clean it myself.
After work, our friend Saren came over with tacos and her famous salsa. It was nice to hang out and talk about weddings and babies.

Today, my cousin Adrienne came to visit. It was so nice to have company during the day even though I had to work. She practiced bedrest with me by taking a nap and lounging around. I was so excited to finish work for the day so I could hang out with Adrienne.
She was able to download pictures from her wedding. We hung out, watched "Bachelor in Paradise", ate dinner, went out for ice cream, and started a baby project. It was so nice to hang out.

Today was also Sierra's third birthday. We celebrated by giving her special birthday treats and singing happy birthday!
Thursday, August 4th
Today was an interesting day. I had tons of work so I planned to get as much done as I could and work late as needed.
Unfortunately, my stress test took longer than normal. Baby Cunigan decided to be stubborn and wouldn't move for the monitor. Then my blood pressure was elevated. It was 150/100. The on-call doctor decided to send me over for labs since it was elevated.
At labor and delivery, they let me know that if we couldn't get my blood pressure down, I would have to be induced. As I waited, I reminded baby Cunigan about our deal we made. He needed to stay in until graduation and then he could come any time after. I even told him that he didn't have to wait for my doctor to get back since he was so big.
For my lab work, they put in a real IV in case I had to stay. I was not prepared for the pain. They put the IV in your wrist. Usually IVs don't bug me but my dominant wrist was painful.
Luckily, they were able to send me home because my blood pressure went down. They told me to watch any signs though because my labs were slowly getting worse (they would continue to decline until I had Baby Cunigan).
Friday, August 5th
Today was an eventful day. Even though my blood pressure had been high, I was still able to attend work's Graduation Meet and Greet with students. I was so excited for an outing!!
It did not disappoint either. I felt so good leaving the house and seeing everyone from work. I made sure to stay in my little camper chair so I didn't overdo it. I only saw two students but it was worth it for me to get out.
Saturday, August 6th
Today was the day. I was able to attend graduation for my Masters degree .
One accomplishment I had on my bucket list was to complete my Masters before having kids. ( I was close on this one but I made it!)
My parents and grandparents were able to come in to celebrate. We ate down town and then attended the ceremony at the Kauffman Performing Arts Center. For the event, I did have to be in a wheel chair. Everyone was so nice to me! It was challenging for me since I didn't get to walk around and find my students but I did get to see them walk across stage to get their diplomas. I love graduation especially since it proves why I (and others) work so hard to see students succeed.
My emotions overwhelmed me during the ceremony and I teared up several times. I think my mom hormones are starting.
After a full packed day , my family and I went home to rest. I could tell I overdid it but it was worth it.
Fingers crossed that this baby will come now that graduation is over. I would love to wait for my doctor to get back but I am ready to be done with bedrest!!
