Our Personal Gender Reveal

Kris and I decided that we wanted to find out the gender of our baby before our actual gender reveal parties. We had a feeling we were having a boy so we decided to find out at the sonogram. I was so nervous about finding out and seeing both of our reactions. Kris and I held hands as we found out and it was obvious right away that we were having a BOY. We didn't really have any reactions when we first found out. Both of our feelings showed later.

After the doctor's visit I was more sad than I realized. I told myself I didn't mind either way if we were having a girl or boy. I cried the whole way back to work realizing that having a girl may never be a reality for us. I know I will love my child no matter what but I was terrified of having a boy. Then I was sad because I felt like a bad parent for crying over the gender. I was very glad we decided to find out by ourselves instead of in front of a gender reveal party.

I started feeling better that night because Kris and I went on a date night together. We both had to get our emotions out. We even read an article about finding out the gender and emotions that come along. After being sad, we decided to go start our nursery artwork. Since we were having a boy, we decided on a Nautical themed nursery which we both were excited about. We were able to get an anchor to start it off.
