The 2nd week of bedrest was a little more stressful but went very quickly. I can tell that resting and being off my feet is way better for me than my normal. Luckily, two weeks down, eight more to go! Here is the recap:
Sunday, June 26th
Today was my first day where I felt really tired. Many people say that you can't expect to have much energy in the 3rd trimester and I felt like it today. I didn't feel good and started the day laying on the couch.
Eventually, I was able to work up some energy. I ended up helping with laundry, made a cake, and finished crocheting a baby scarf. I felt so good but probably was on my feet more than I should have been.
Kris was able to go baby shopping without me. He got the crib mattress, his daddy diaper bag, and a swing seat for baby. I was proud!

Today, I had a crazy doctor's visit. I only planned to go in for my stress test but my doctor ended up having time to see me. The nurse was glad too because my blood pressure was high again. I knew I must have overdid it if my blood pressure was high. My right arm was 144/92 and my left arm was 146/94.
After my stress test, I went to see my doctor for my 32 week check up appointment. As soon as I got in the room, the fire alarm went off. Luckily, right before the nurse took my blood pressure and it came down to 134/80. I had to take the stairs outside and sit in the sun. Even though it was hot, it was nice because I never get to be outside anymore. The nurses were all worried about me since I was supposed to stay off my feet and be out of the sun. My doctor thought about sending me over to labor and delivery again but I told her my last reading was lower. She decided to let me wait and then have my normal appointment.
After about 15-20 minutes, we were able to go inside. Turns out someone burnt popcorn in a microwave. It smelled awful! I was glad I still had my normal appointment. We mostly talked about my bedrest and how I was feeling. The doctor decided that I could be a little more mobile than the first week. She told me I could go to the pool as long as I was in the pool, I could go out from time to time, and I could be on my feet a little more at home. She said should would know though if I was overdoing it because my blood pressure would reflect it. Leaving the doctor's office, I was so excited! Having the opportunity to leave the house on occasion sounded wonderful!
Tuesday, June 28th
Today was a hard day. I didn't sleep much due to being stressed out over baby stuff and personal things. I wasn't able to start work on time as planned either due to a rough headache. Not much happened during the day especially since I tried to take it as easy as I could with my headache.
Bedrest was definitely a good option for the full day. After working, I took a nap and crocheted a potholder.

Today, ended up being a very weird day. I woke up a little nervous because my work allowed me to interview for a higher position over video chat. It was a little odd doing everything though video but I liked being able to see reactions versus a phone interview. Since I had my interview, I straighten my hair, put on makeup, and even wore a dress. I felt like a normal person!
After work, my friend Karen, from Chick-fil-a, came to visit. She was wonderful and brought us dinner but also brought us a present for Baby Cunigan. It was so nice to have company and catch up. She made us a delicious roast beef with carrots and potatoes. She also brought us rolls, muffins, and cookies. For Baby Cunigan, she bought him 2 new outfits and a bath time kit.
I had a little more energy at night again so I decided to type out our full birth plan. It was full of things I had never heard of so I am grateful for google so I could search and figure out options. It took me awhile to plan everything out but it was one more thing to check off my to-do list. Somehow with the excitement, I ended up getting physically sick. I hadn't gotten sick in a long time and usually only had to worry about nausea. It came out of nowhere. I was nervous though because my doctor told me to watch everything and track it. Luckily, I only got sick once and my blood pressure was normal. I was glad I would be seeing the doctor the next day.
Thursday, June 30th
Today, I woke up feeling sick again. I had a really bad headache and could barely drink water because I was so nauseous. I had to make sure I ate something before my stress test so I ate some bread.
When I got to the doctor, the nurse told me I didn't look too good. I told her about getting sick the night before and how my head had hurt since then. She told me my face was swollen so she was a little worried. She turned out the lights for me so I could relax during. My first reading was 140/90. She decided to talk to the doctor and then take it again. My blood pressure was able to come down to 130/90 but she didn't feel good with me going home. She sent me over to Labor and Delivery (3rd time now) to have tests done and to monitor baby for an hour.
When I got over to labor and delivery, I told them they were going to know me really well before I actually have this baby. They said it is better to be safe than sorry. I ended up having the same nurse as last time which was nice to have a familiar face. She told me it wasn't time for baby yet and I told her I knew that. She was able to get me all hooked up and took tests like last time. She turned off the lights for me as well and let me be for an hour. I was able to take a little nap to help with my headache.
After the hour, she told me everything looked good and my blood pressure finally came down. She told me to relax and take it easy the rest of the day. She emphasized that I needed to chill because I need to make it at least 4 more weeks. I told her I planned to make it at least 4 more weeks.
Sad to be at Labor and Delivery again
Baby Cunigan is getting big!
Friday, July 1st
Today, I was so grateful that it was Friday. I was so tired over the emotional and crazy week. Luckily, I only had to work until 3 and Kris was able to work from home with me. I loved having company all day! The work day went by quick.
Kris and I decided to use my "get out of the house" time to eat out. We went to Planet sub. It felt so weird to be out of the house but nice at the same time. I was tired just by going out so I ended up taking a nap after.
Later that night, I really wanted a slushie so I rode with Kris to Sonic to get a slushie. It was nice to have some freedom!

Saturday, July 2nd
Today, Kris and I were able to sleep in. We are trying to get as many sleep in days as we can before Baby arrives. I ended up overdoing it a little bit because I wanted to tag along with Kris when he left the house. We went to chick-fil-a like our "normal" Saturday routine and then we went over to my friend, Alli's house to pick up some baby things. I probably should have stayed home but enjoyed being able to ride along.
Alli was able to give us a glider, a baby swing, an exerciser, and baby clothes! I was so excited. I thought I would have energy to go through things but since I rode along with Kris, I was worn out. I ended up laying on the couch after being out and about. After relaxing a little, I finally was able to update the pregnancy book with ultrasounds and baby paperwork. I finally read about actual labor as well. I feel slightly more prepared now.
Glad to have the 2nd week behind me. Time is starting to go fast! We have a busy next few weekends (baby classes and visitors) but I am hoping to enjoy the relaxation time and make the most of it!
